*** BREEZE COMES HOME ***
Breeze is now back in Scotland with me for 6 months. During that time I will show her for her owner Daggi Kocur and she will return home in September.

The month starts well with CRUFTS on 12th. This year it is Jean Westren (Deanery) in the centre of the ring.
Flint is awarded 2nd in Special Puppy despite playing dead in the middle of the ring !

What a super start to the year for Sam Goldberg and Newlin Chalice at Molesend JW who was Runner Up in the Tyne, Wear and Tees Hound of the Year 2010 under judge Fran Mitchell.

Not much show news this month.
The weather is very bad and the Scottish Beagle Club Christmas party has to be cancelled.
November 2010
West Mercia Beagle Club had attracted a record entry of 241 dogs for their Championship Show under respected judge Patricia Sutton.
I was over the moon when Flint won Minor Puppy dog and was declared Best Puppy Dog (pictured below, right)

On to the 31st when Wendy Hall is the judge at Midland Counties Champ Show.
Baby Flint wins a lovely Minor Puppy dog class.
Sam Goldberg steers Chalice to win the huge Post Graduate bitch class and is awarded the RCC.
Huge congratualtions to Sam and Chalice and massive thanks to judge Wendy Hall !

Meanwhile in Germany its a great weekend for Breeze.
On 15th at the Bundessieger Zuchtschau she is awarded Best bitch, VDH Ch, CAC, CACIB and Bundessiegerin under highly respected judge Jochen Eberhardt.

20th September is Four Counties Beagle Club Open Show and the gorgeous ‘Shay’ does it again - winning Best Dog………
Not to be outdone Chalice wins three classes !!

On the 13th the results come back from the laboratory and as expected Bailiff carries the MLS gene and so does his mother Ch Newlin Osprey. However her mother, Ch Newlin Kelsey is clear !
Every other dog in the kennel is clear too, so I have to be positive as it could have been so very much worse….

I wasn’t able to attend Birmingham Champ show on 3rd as Ginger’s pups couldn’t be left, but to cheer me up I had a phone call from Lynn Bailey to say that Newlin Victor of Salenko JW Sh CM had been awarded the RCC under breed specialist judge Ann Phillips (Lanesend).

All the dogs in the kennel have been tested for MLS and the agonising wait begins…

The ‘Low’ was being told that Bailey had sired two puppies in a litter who were affected with Musladin-Lueke Syndrome.

On 28th the ‘High’ was Bailey winning the CC and RBIS at Northern and Midland Counties Beagle Club. A huge thank you to Joan Lennard (Butterow Beagles) for awarding my boy the ‘icing on the cake’ - that 4th CC.
What a very mixed month for me with highs and lows………

The very next day another success abroad as Breeze wins the RCAC at the National in Leipzig - what a weekend !!!

21st was the show in Leipzig judged by fellow Scot Kathleen Cooper (Caurniehill).
She found her best bitch in Newlin Breeze JW and awarded her VDH Ch, CAC,
** CACIB and Breeze became a GERMAN CLUB CHAMPION ! **

On 17th, after her return home, Breeze attended the Beagle Speciality Show in Berlin.
The judge was hound specialist Zola Rawson from the UK and Breeze won :-
Best Intermediate in show, VDH Ch, Res CAC

Off in the Motorhome for a couple of weeks with Daggi Kocur from Germany who owns Breeze. The weather was lovely and we attended Windsor and East of England championship shows and also had a lovely day at the Beagle Club rally where Daggi’s boy Cash was awarded the ‘Most Handsome Male’. There were no major prizes for either of us but ………….
At East of England Sam Goldberg’s Newlin Chalice at Molesend was awarded 1st in Junior bitch and the RCC under Beagle Specialist Melanie Spavin.

The very next day at Border Union it was the first timer Gerry Robertson who was centre stage.
I was thrilled to win Limit dog with Bailey and in the challenge was awarded the CC.

This weekend sees two Championship shows running ‘back to back’.
Wal Westren from Southern Ireland is presiding at the Scottish Beagle Clubs show which is held at Lanark so just a 15 minute drive. I never handle dogs at our own shows so had to call upon a variety of helpers:- Thanks to -

12th July is the date for the prestigious Beagle Club Championship show.
I am unable to attend due to the puppies but what a great show for Newlin as Lynn Bailey steers Shay to win Open Dog and the RCC under well know judge Penny Carmichael. Huge thanks to Penny who seems to like the Newlin boys !!!

On 17th we were off across the Irish Sea to the Beagle Club of Northern Ireland Championship Show.
First timer Sam Goldberg is the judge for the day and again I was unable to show.
Yet again the fabulous 'Shay' is awarded the DCC and RBIS.

Once again I was unable to show - but I am beginning to think I do better when I am not exhibiting !!!!
