Off down the motorway again for the Northern and Midland Beagle Club Open Show under judge Lynda Player (Lyndex). We never expected for one moment what a fabulous day we would have.

Buzz and Busker both won two classes each and Buzz was awarded Best Puppy Dog, again.

However the star of the day was our little Ginger (Yannis) who, only 13 days out of puppy, won both her classes and then was the judges choice for BEST IN SHOW !

 

 

 

September 2008

Closer to home at the Scottish Beagle Club's Open show it was Buzz who beat his brother into second place. He was awarded Best Puppy Dog but had to give way to kennel mate Yannis who was awarded BEST PUPPY IN SHOW.

 

 Rachel was Reserve Best Bitch so a great day for the Newlins.

 Thanks to handlers Lynn Bailey and Sam Goldberg, as I do not handle at our own show, and of course to Judge Kath Parkin.

We were really looking forward to Driffield Champ show as it was the first outing for our new boys Buzz (Molesend Busy at Newlin) and Busker (Molesend Busking at Newlin) bred by Sam and Martin Goldberg and the late David Nicholson.

We were absolutely thrilled when both qualified for Crufts with Busker achieving Best Puppy Dog .

After a great deal of soul searching on 15th we decided to let Jack (Ch Sailor) go to a retirement home.

 We couldn't have wished for a better and more knowledgeable home for him so he now lives with Alasdair and Moira Brown and is successor to their much loved Timothy.

September started with a trip to Prague to judge the Czech Republic's Beagle Club's Champ Show.

 David was judging the dogs and the baby puppy classes and Liz the bitches. Judging took place simultaneously in different rings so neither got a look at what the other was doing.

When it came to Best in Show we were astounded to find out that the best bitch and best dog were litter brother and sister and, coincidentally, both harepied.

August 2008

 

It was a fantastic day at the Welsh Kennel Club for Lynn Bailey's Newlin Victor of Salenko JW who won a star studded Limit class and then went on to take the RCC under breed specialist judge Jane May.

Well done Lynn !!!

Back home to more rain, piles of washing and some beautiful puppies. How they grow.................

My last stop is Bournemouth  and David has already taken the motorhome  back to Scotland and collected Fishcake's pups who are ready for weaning. Frank Kane is the judge and, yet again in pouring rain, a lovely day for Newlin.

Our next stop is Paignton where judge Brian Foster is centre stage. Not too successful but both Rachel and Yannis manage a placing.

On to the Houndshow at Stafford under breed specialist Bill McInnes and Yannis keeps the flag flying by being awarded 2nd in puppy

 

 

July 2008

 

Our first stop is Leeds under judge Peter Higgins awarding CC's for the first time. Yannis manages a 3rd in the Puppy class but we were delighted when Jim and Julie Woodcock won junior bitch  and the CC with their lovely Rossgay Rouska (whose mother is Osprey's sister Newlin Oatmeal at Rossgay)

Fortunately, the pups and Fishy are all well and off to Golden Retriever (ex Beagle) breeder Grace Purdie for a couple of weeks while we set off in the mobile home for a tour of some southern shows.It will be a welcome break from driving up and down the motorway to every show.

We were due to travel south to the Beagle Association Ch Show on the 19th but due to Fishcake's pups still being a bit poorly it was decided to give it a miss, so apologies to judge Wendy Hall.

After a difficult whelping Ch Osprey (Fishcake) presented us with  5 lovely puppies by Ch Bedeway Artful. We have 4 lovely girls and a little boy who is lucky to be here. A nice surprise at Newlin to have an all tricolour litter.

 

 

 

 

 

June 2008

 

After a couple of weeks at home, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, we were off to Blackpool. This was yet another wet show but at least we missed the gales of the following day when the show was abandoned.

Yannis was placed first in a well filled minor puppy class under breed specialist Melanie Spavin.

At the Beagle Club Championship Show under international judge Mrs C. Linde-Forsberg, Rachel goes one better winning Open bitch, Bitch CC and Reserve Best in Show.

Yannis also wins a lovely Minor Puppy bitch class.

It was a super day for the Newlins, as Newlin Zoe at Finmorlan qualified for Crufts 2009 as well.

Closer to home at SKC, handled by a brave Lynn Bailey, Rachel wins the RCC (her 5th) under Pamela Marston -Pollock.

Great news - Ch Osprey has been mated to Ch Bedeway Artful. We are looking forward to the patter of tiny paws in mid July.

It was a long treck to Devon and Cornwall Beagle Club but Roger Henninggson - Dundas gave Sailor 1st in the very strong open dog class and baby Yannis ( Ginger) qualified for Crufts 2009 under Jane Millar from Australia.
